Origins: Green Rooms in theaters are funny places–those liminal spaces where the interactions between characters on the stage sometimes bleed into the relationships the actors have with one another. “Carissa” was someone I knew primarily through the stories of others, told backstage, and what I heard often correlated with the roles she played. I wanted to explore that idea–that, for better or worse, we are simply constructs in the minds of those who experience us.
